A rice-grain zhurenbei, or host’s cup, has a gently flared rim, rounded walls, and a small raised foot. Its openwork phoenix motif gives the white porcelain a delicate, changing appearance, while the smooth interior makes tea colour easy to observe.

Rice-grain porcelain, known as linglong, is a historic Chinese decorative technique associated especially with Jingdezhen. Small openings in the porcelain are incorporated into the design, and individual cups are used during gongfu tea for focused tasting.

Made in China in the Jingdezhen porcelain tradition, this cup combines a white body with coral-red phoenix decoration, wave borders, and a patterned foot. Rinse away tea residue after use and dry the cup thoroughly before storing it.
