Geometric and hexagonal pot forms appear throughout Chinese teaware history, notably in the scholar and Yixing (zisha) traditions from the late Ming into the Qing period and later. Artisans favored angular, faceted designs alongside organic ones as part of a broader aesthetic that prized both function and literati restraint. Many such forms were produced in Jiangsu’s Yixing region and in imperial and private kilns, used for the gongfu tea ritual and everyday brewing.
