Form and function
This Han tile teapot combines a rounded body with a broad flat lid, a clear loop handle and a short angled spout. Its raised lattice pattern creates a firm visual rhythm across the sides, while the open handle makes pouring comfortable during everyday gongfu brewing.
The tile-inspired name describes the decorative vocabulary rather than a documented historical teapot shape. Chinese teapots rose to prominence during the Ming dynasty, when loose-leaf tea replaced earlier methods and brewing directly in a pot became increasingly common at the table.
Made in China from dark ceramic, this piece shows warm brown accents on the floral lattice, central character and Greek-key borders. The lid repeats the geometric theme for a coordinated appearance. Rinse gently after brewing, remove the leaves and let the pot dry fully.
